My July garden
I found a little inspiration for a painting from my own garden. What I like about this composition is the contrast between the new growth and that which is fading. The tall round seed heads of the allium flowers still stand strong, though the blooms are spent, while the hosta buds are just bursting to the scene. What I enjoy so much in the garden, is the movement, the symphony of colour and form and the anticipation of something new.
This was my first acrylic painting created in my new studio, so I’m pretty excited! Stay tuned for more to come.
